Finance Officer

Based at the Corinthian office in Tunbridge Wells, we are looking for a part time Finance Officer.

Job Purpose

To be responsible for the day to day running of the accounting function of Corinthian Pensions Consulting Ltd, with the preparation of the monthly management accounts to enable the directors to monitor the performance of the business and make timely decisions.

The role is anticipated to be a 3 day per week part time role, in the region of 21 to 24 working hours. It is envisaged the role will be a dedicated Financial Controller Role. There is some scope for flexibility/agreement as to the days worked and hours depending on candidate. The hours may for example be split over 4 days.

Key Responsibilities within a typical week

•Processing all bank payments, receipts, standing orders and direct debitsReconciling the bank accounts on a weekly basis
•Processing all purchase invoices
•Generating and processing all sales invoices
•Processing Expenses claims
•Making supplier payments
•Supplier statement reconciliations
•Overall sales ledger reconciliation and control
•Calculating the month end prepayments and updating the schedule
•Calculating the month end accruals and updating the Schedule
•Keeping track of the monthly project income and platform costs to ensure that profit recognition is accurate over the life of the project
•Maintaining the fixed asset register
•Preparing and processing the monthly payroll journals
•Ensuring that all key control accounts reconcile to the trial balance monthly. i.e. VAT control, PAYE control, Pension control, intercompany balances, aged debtors, aged creditors, bank accounts, expenses control account, net salary control, accruals and prepayments.
•Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and filing online
•Assisting the Directors to prepare annual budgets and monitoring performance using FUTRLI

Qualifications and Experience

•Qualified AAT preferred but can be part qualified but still studying.
•Good working knowledge of computerised accounting systems, preferably Xero, Sage, Line 50
•Ability to design and implement accounting systems and processes
•Experience in using Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Excel, Word.
