We’re looking for an exceptional Director / Head of Retail Retirement Solutions Distribution to lead our field teams, accelerate growth, and bring our Retail Distribution vision to life.
Reporting into and working closely with the Director of Retail Distribution, you will execute the distribution strategy by driving sales across all UK retail products to achieve new business targets. You will build strategic and/or co-manufactured partnerships with large advice led or nationally consolidated businesses, to deliver true “partnerships” with financial planning businesses and suppliers across the UK that lead to Just being recognised as the “Retirement Expert”.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive a high-performance environment by leading, developing, implementing and evolving a robust intermediated distribution strategy, driving sales across all UK retail product categories in pursuit of Just’s wider ambition to be recognised by advisers as the “Retirement Expert”.
Ensure that principal distribution teams (non-advised specialist accounts, vertically integrated, banks and Investment solutions focused) teams are resourced and optimised to ensure successful client and commercial outcomes with all agreed business targets achieved.
Lead and empower three specialist teams, covering non‑advised accounts, vertically integrated businesses, and investment‑solution partners, ensuring targets, client outcomes, and commercial goals are consistently achieved.
Build strategic and/or co-manufactured partnerships that drive commercial outcomes with large advice led vertically integrated and/or nationally consolidated business.
Build and develop mutually beneficial business relationships with the Group’s key Retail Distribution firms to secure our position as a valued partner
Gather insights and market intelligence and share best practices to help strengthen the Group’s Retail channel strategy and execution.
Collaborate with wider Retail colleagues to support our development of the adviser service proposition, supporting a cross functional approach to ensure advisers receive the best service and technical experience to differentiate Just from the competition.
Use insight and thought leadership in a consultative sales dialogue to influence and drive change within an adviser firm’s retirement income advice processes.
Work closely with Marketing and data teams to ensure that communications are effective, timely, efficient and aligned with wider Group messaging.
Ensure performance KPIs and management information (MI) are reported to the business
Confidence to represent Just and speak at industry events, webinars, conferences and trade events.
Skills and Experience
QCA Level 4 (Chartered preferred)
Results focused with a proven track record of leading high‑performing intermediary sales teams within the UK Retail Advisory market
Extensive network of excellent connections in intermediary industry across all levels from adviser to c-suite and a proven track record of negotiation and influencing at all levels.
Deep understanding of the UK Retail advisory market particularly the larger advisory groups, key individuals, and their own commercial drivers from which we can become a true partner with shared commercial and execution support.
Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner; sharing the vision, driving performance and innovation, facilitating business opportunities and raising brand awareness.
Strong level of awareness of competitor activities in the retirement market including new innovations, changing client and adviser needs alongside an understanding of how our competitors’ propositions are seeking to meet these needs.
