About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a technical pensions professional to join our Retail Commercial and Propositions team. This is a great role for someone who is an experienced Technical Manager, to be responsible for ensuring that our Retail propositions continue to operate within the product rules and the legislative and regulatory framework.  

Reporting into the Head of Governance and Technical, you will help identifying, analysing, interpreting and communicating regulatory changes impacting the Retail Propositions as well as effectively manage a centre of technical excellence within the  Retail Commercial and Propositions function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure  that  the  Retail propositions continue to operate within the applicable UK Regulatory and tax framework

  • Provide technical input to Proposition Design which enables the Retail division to continue to be a leader in its chosen markets.

  • Ensure regulatory, legal and operational risks are identified, reported and managed in line with corporate guidelines

  • Using Technical expertise to support in the maintenance and evolution of existing products and in the design of new propositions.

  • Review proposition literature to ensure its accuracy in relation to the product rules and the UK regulatory and tax framework.

  • Maintain a log of all new regulatory change,  inline with our risk controls, working with relevant stakeholders to independently evaluate and inform the business of  the impact of relevant regulatory publications

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in a Technical role previously is essential. 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the UK pensions framework, including but not limited to pensions tax manual and applicable FCA COBS rules.

  • Experience of responding quickly to changes in legislation and policy.

  • Able to understand and interpret legislation, regulations and FCA rules

  • Ability to summarise complex subjects for varying audiences

  • Able to engage and manage relationships with various stakeholders, including senior management.

  • Excellent problem solving, analysis and resolution skills
