At Just. we are recruiting for our future and we currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Reinsurance team as a Reinsurance Analyst on a permanent basis from our London office. You will report to the Reinsurance Actuary and support the delivery of Reinsurance development projects and BAU processes.
The main purpose of the role and the Reinsurance team is to optimise the Group’s risk management and capital efficiency through cost-effective reinsurance arrangements.
This would be the ideal role for an individual who has a couple of years’ experience within an Insurance business and is making progress through the Actuarial examinations.
You will need to be confident in your approach with an ability to bridge the gap and communicate effectively between Reinsurance and the wider business. You also need to be able to read and interpret documents well and be able to pull out key messages and information.
Day to day as a Reinsurance Analyst
•Support the Reinsurance Actuaries in maintaining quarterly reinsurance metrics that demonstrate the risk mitigation, pricing and capital effectiveness of existing and potential reinsurance arrangements.
•Support the Reinsurance Actuaries to deliver reinsurance projects, including implementing new reinsurance arrangements, and support wider company projects, as required.
•Take ownership of doing Reinsurance Team BAU processes, including KPIs, reinsurer MI and collateral calculations. Ensure these processes are compliant with EUC policies and TAS.
•Support the Reinsurance Actuaries in managing current reinsurance arrangements, including documenting treaties, updating the Reinsurance summaries and maintaining relationships with reinsurers, which can involve cashflow calculation, data provision and other adhoc queries .
•Support the Reinsurance Actuaries in keeping all existing Reinsurance Team documentation up to date, including departmental policies and procedures and the reinsurance strategy paper.
•Support the Longevity and Demographic Risk Actuaries as required.
Skills we are looking for
•Part qualified FIA, FFA or equivalent, or undertaking actuarial study
•Good industry knowledge (pensions and annuities)
•Good communication skills with internal stakeholders
•Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders
•Team player, with a strong desire to contribute to reinsurance projects
•Excellent problem analysis and modelling skills
•Insurance industry experience, preferably within a Life business
