Inclusion at Just

Inclusion at Just

Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are priorities for us. Having a diverse, talented workforce with colleagues of different backgrounds, world views and experiences is the right thing to do. It’s also the most effective way to succeed, innovate and better serve our customers now and in the future.

Our strategy

We have a strategy and a three-year action plan that underpin our commitment to drive progress on all aspects of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. We have six key areas of focus:

  • Equal opportunity: all groups have equal opportunity for progression and development
  • Diverse representation: continue to increase diverse representation
  • Foster belonging: strengthen our culture of belonging
  • Strengthen senior engagement: increase leadership accountability for leading our inclusive culture
  • Build inclusive behaviours: guide and support colleagues to behave inclusively
  • Empower brilliant managers: guide and train our managers to know how to create a sense of belonging and psychological safety

Our commitments

We work with a range of different organisations to support us with our strategy: we are committed to the HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter, the Race at Work Charter, the Age-friendly Employer Pledge and the Menopause Workplace Pledge, we are accredited by 55 Redefined as an Age Inclusive Employer, are members of Group for Autism in Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity, the Business Disability Forum and Progress Together. We are a Disability Confident Employer.

These organisations help us to put in place policies, procedures, guidance, support and training for all of our colleagues.

Colleague networks

We have a number of networks within Just across all of the strands of diversity we focus on (gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, older workers and socio-economic background).

Our networks promote support, understanding and belonging and run a huge range of events, programmes and activities which help us to understand and support one other, drive change, build engagement and inspire others – the more we can learn about and understand others, the more connected and engaged we will be at Just.

All networks are open to everyone, and all are welcome to get involved. From International Women’s Day, celebrating neurodiversity and Diwali, to Pride Month and Black History Month, there is something for everyone - inclusion benefits all of us.

Programmes

We have a number of programmes supporting our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging strategy which our colleagues can get involved in. We run a popular and impactful reciprocal mentoring programme which colleagues from diverse backgrounds can volunteer to take part in, meeting a senior leader for regular conversations over the course of nine months to increase mutual understanding, empathy and allyship.
We take part in Mission Include, the cross-company mentoring programme run by the 30% Club and Moving Ahead – our colleagues from any diverse background are able to apply to be mentored for nine months by a senior leader from a different organisation.
