Purpose
The de-risking market continues to evolve and we are seeing a step change in schemes wishing to move to buy-out. This role will be pivotal in driving our existing schemes to achieving their de-risking ambitions whilst ensuring our buy-out new business implementation activities are controlled and robust.
The role is key for supporting multiple aspects of our business. The role will hold responsibility for driving schemes through project planning to their data cleanse completion and validation. As our business continues to grows, this role will work to deliver process improvements alongside the Data and Onboarding Team, unlocking administrative support from our TPA, enabling the DB Buy-Out proposition to operate at scale.
Job Role Accountabilities
- Manage buy-out team driving positive outcomes and a high performing culture.
- Oversee the project managing of all buyout data cleanse activities, agreeing project plans with internal and external stakeholders updating as required if any key deliverables change or are delayed.
- Working alongside the Data & Onboarding team flagging an buy out specific issues ahead of true-up activities being undertaken, overseeing any further data queries and requirements back from Trustee and administrators when identified during the buyout phase.
- Support Transition Relationship Managers throughout the data cleanse process as required to enable production of data sets for Individual Policies (IPs), payroll and setting up of the legal framework.
- Work alongside the Post Transaction Service manager and Head of Post Transaction Services to support schemes moving to buy-out Planning with the ultimate goal that ownership of this activity rests with the Buy-out Manager solely.
- Provide specialist technical support for Buy-out activities as required to both internal colleagues and external clients.
- Provide training and guidance to Buy-out Managers and Analysts as we as wider colleagues within the DB area.
- Working with Data and Onboarding team and Member Services teams to ensure appropriate processes are in place to support increasing scale of buy-out transactions and member levels.
- Maintain strong understanding of all regulatory requirements linked to buy-out activities including GMP Equalisation methodologies and how they relate to the buy-out journey.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy of buy out process adapting current processes and implementing new processes to ensure positive member experience.
Skills and Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience working in the Pensions Industry for a similar organisation.
- Previous experience of working for a DB Pensions De Risking company, including working with both Trustees and EBCs with a background of driving scheme transitions through to conclusion.
- Excellent team manager with a proven track record of driving positive change across a number of different projects.
- Excellent understanding of DB de risking administration requirements and how they differ from standard pensions administration essential.
- Excellent understanding of life and pensions industry essential, in particular DB Pensions and the DB de risking market.
