As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be key in ensuring our business continues to grow and be instrumental in supporting the principals, technologies and methodologies we require to move us towards an always-on Operation. From early on, you’ll help empower our breakthrough innovations, be given challenging assignments, lead initiatives, and take ownership and responsibility. While we have a Cloud First strategy, we also have a significant on premise estate, so and ideal candidate will have experience and desire to work in both those areas of technology.
We are looking for someone who is eager to use and grow your technological skills during a period of significant planned growth. Reporting into Cloud Engineering Manager and working with the leads and Technical Operations manager across the operational area as well as other technical leads, you will ensure that new technologies and product suites are delivered on time, on budget and always with an eye on the in-life capabilities and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain automation tools, scripts, and processes for cloud-based application deployment, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication, implementation, and delivery of cloud-based solutions.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and share knowledge with the team.
Assist the Product Owner to create and features for Cloud and on Premise infrastructure
Refinement of features alongside Engineering teams and assist with Product Backlog Item and task creation.
Help Product Teams estimate workloads during sprint refinement sessions
Skills and Experience:
Experience in on Premise and cloud infrastructure administration.
Infrastructure as Code – Terraform to an advanced level.
Microsoft Certification
Previous experience working with Cloud based providers (Azure , Google Cloud Platform or AWS)
Previous experience of working in a regulated industry (preferably FCA / PRA controlled)
Working in an Agile/Scrum environment
Experience in current hardware technology in Enterprise systems and Enterprise backup and recovery systems and processes
Building resilience across entire technology stacks
System monitoring and alerting tools.
Excellent communicator able to influence others from a wide variety of business functions.
Security orchestration automation and response – Able to automate responses to a variety of events.
On Prem Infrastructure Technologies – Hyper-V, AzureStack HCI, Azure Arc
On Prem Database Technologies - MS SQL Server \ Clustering \ AlwaysOn
Administer access to domains and connectivity of all applications including on premise and the cloud.
Build and manage effective relationships with other teams, agreeing inputs and outputs, terms of engagement and boundaries of responsibility.
Understand good practice in service provision and customer service
Capacity Management and availability stats monitoring via APM (Dynatrace)
