About the role

An opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team managing and developing the Just Actuarial Model (using Mo.net) and the supporting platform, used for Financial and Regulatory reporting.

The team is responsible for managing the model release process for the Actuarial model and supporting platform, ensuring that changes from the development teams within Actuarial Systems are consolidated, deployed and pass user acceptance before being promoted to Live.

The team is at the forefront of ensuring the model remains compliant with IT change and Audit requirements as well as Actuarial standards.

The role sits in the Design, Architecture and Controls team (DAC) which is part of the wider Actuarial Systems team at Just. DAC also form part of an agile scrum team including IT development and test resource.

This scrum team work closely together to develop the platform supporting the model which includes databases, web services and UI tools. Part of the role is to bridge the gap between Actuarial teams and IT, providing an opportunity to help shape business requirements into highly effective technical solutions.

Key Accountabilities

  • You will be responsible for supporting the Model Release & Model Development

  • Supporting the design of the model, the platform and associated processes, providing expertise and support in the development of solutions to business problems.

  • Continually improving operational processes for developers and users of the system and looking at transformational improvements to the system, for example migration to cloud.

  • Support for BAU processes using the system where these processes are not yet automated and where system issues arise.

  • Customer focus is a core part of our team ensuring that we respond quickly to issues affecting the production of Financial or Regulatory results and strong collaboration with colleagues in Actuarial and IT to resolve issues an important skill for the role.

About You

  • You will be a part qualified Actuary – with multiple exams passed.

  • You will have a keen eye for detail and desire to make things better.

  • Team orientated and helpful by nature.

  • Experience of working within a Controls / Governance structure.
