Payroll and Benefits Adviser

Reigate or London – Hybrid

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll & Benefits Advisor to join our HR team, to provide key support  to the Group Operations & Reward team in the delivery of payroll and benefits to Just.  The role will also advise and support managers and employees on all payroll and benefit related matters ensuring the prompt and accurate payment of employees in line with HMRC regulations. 

Key Activities

  • Processing payroll and benefits on a monthly basis, ensuring an efficient and effective payroll service is provided.

  • Maintain monthly payroll, including collating data for starters, leavers, employee benefits and salary sacrifice.

  • Ensure all payroll data is accurate and that all audit records are correct.

  • Manage and conduct regular checks to ensure accuracy of payroll database.

  • Prepare and submit monthly reports to 3rd party providers.

  • Provide a high level of customer service to employees and managers regarding payroll and benefit queries.

  • Administration of New Starters, Leavers, Contractual Changes, Statutory Payments, absence, overtime.

  • Administration of absence & statutory periods of leave.

  • Administration of the Groups Pension Scheme & auto enrolment compliance, ensuring accurate deductions & payments are made.

  • Administration of employee benefit changes. Liaising with the benefit providers on all benefit related issues and queries.

  • Completion of all payroll & benefit reconciliations.

  • Process Save As Your Earn (SAYE) changes

  • Production of daily/weekly/monthly payroll audit reports.

  • Assist with tax year-end in line with HMRC reporting requirements, including P60’s and P11D’s.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven UK in house payroll experience - experience of processing a large payroll (800 employees & above)

  • Knowledge of Auto enrolment and of the latest HRMC payroll legislation

  • Ability to perform Manual Pay Calculation

  • Well organised and able to prioritise workload.

  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal.

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Exposure to Workday would be desirable but isn’t essential

  • A qualification in CIPP or IPPM Payroll would be desirable, but isn’t essential
