Credit Policy Analyst

At Just We’re a business full of ambition and we currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our Actuarial & Underwriting team as a Credit Policy Analyst on a permanent basis from our Reigate office. It is an exciting time as we look to develop our mortgage product range in this growing market segment. This role plays a vital part in the development of the Just Retirement Mortgage Lending approach and the insight into the characterisitcs of the lending book both in house and managed by our third party partners.

The opportunity carries a great deal of responsibility and autonomy with a real opportunity to develop our Lifetime Mortgages lending related policies through the mortgage lifecycle from acquisition to redemption/repossession.

You’ll develop and maintain all Lifetime lending policies ensuring that they remain F.C.A. & P.R.A regulatory compliant, align with our agreed risk appetite and are competitive in the market.

You’ll also create, manage and update a competitor analysis of lending policies in order to identify areas requiring further analysis and recommending changes in order to effectively manage risk and maximise profitable business.

In addition you’ll identify, analyse and initiate investigations into the Lifetime mortgage property portfolio to improve the understanding of the risk dynamics, creating reports, highlighting findings and recommending changes to lending policy.

Finally, you will deputise for the Head of Mortgage Underwriting where required and act as the Lifetime Mortgage S.M.E for the interpretation and understanding of the business lending policies both for internal colleagues and also for the third parties e.g. portfolio administrators, correspondent lenders etc.

Skills we are looking for

•ACIB or FCIB - desirable
•Detailed Mortgage knowledge
•Detailed understanding of property law in relation to mortgages.
•Detailed knowledge of F.C.A. M.C.O.B. handbooks and ability to translate and interpret into practical, complaint lending policy.
•Ability to identify, analyse and make recommendations out of detailed data sets.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to articulate and present complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
•Lending policy analysis experience in a mortgage lending business, lifetime mortgage related desirable.
•Demonstrable experience of presenting to credit risk or similar governance bodies.
•Experience of initiating, analysing and interpreting complex data sets in order to recommend changes to lending policy.
Desirable - experience of project work automating mortgage lending activity and transforming digital journeys.
