About the role

We are looking for an Actuary in our Actuarial Reporting and Analysis team to lead the delivery and analysis of the Group’s actuarial reporting requirements (IFRS, Solvency II and reinsurance reporting). The role will also support the development and maintenance of these actuarial reporting metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Production of the actuarial information required to support the Group’s internal and external reporting of IFRS and Solvency II, as well as the information required for planning & analysis of these metrics

  • Delivery of reinsurer reporting requirements in line with Group treaties

  • Development and maintenance of Group-wide methodology to be deployed in actuarial systems required to fulfil the team’s objectives

  • To support the Heads of Financial and Capital Reporting and Analysis to set the bases required for actuarial reporting and analysis purposes

  • To ensure timely testing of the tools developed by the Actuarial Systems team for actuarial reporting and analysis purposes

  • To develop and improve the reporting processes used for actuarial reporting and analysis purposes

  • To represent the team and provide actuarial expertise to define actuarial requirements on projects and other change programme initiatives

  • To support the development of responses to requests from UK regulators and other third parties

  • To operate a robust control framework for the production of results including maintaining appropriate documentation and compliance with relevant requirements (including TASs)

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Actuary

  • Knowledge of insurance products and markets, including UK reporting regulations

  • Experience of an actuarial reporting function, ideally with experience of annuities and LTM

  • Able to assess materiality of issues and determine appropriate course of action

  • Strong communication skills with ability to convey complex concepts to team management

  • Good problem analysis and resolution skills

  • Good verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner

  • Awareness of the products and services provided by the Group

  • Detailed working knowledge of relevant business processes

  • Leadership and influencing skills

  • Understanding of people resource requirements

  • Able to manage smaller defined projects with other stakeholders in the company
